Does The Early Bird Catch The House??

You are browsing online one evening after work and you come across your dream home, just listed for sale… does it help you to be up at 6:00 am and be the first to contact the listing agent the next morning??  Possibly!  But, not always.  A recent study done by www.homefinder.com shows that  there are night owls and there are early birds when it comes to real estate and location plays a huge role.

Miami – Don’t bother waking up before the sun to try to get in touch with an agent about their listing.  It doesn’t matter when you see the listing because the likelihood of you getting in touch with that agent before 10:00 am is slim to none.  The same was found to be true for the mortgage brokers and title companies, not surprisingly.

Los Angeles – Unlike Miami, you find all kinds of professionals at their desks bright and early, by 8:00 am every morning.  This is true for all industries there, not just real estate.

Homefinder.com found that the five cities with the greatest number of searches between 4:00 am and 10:00 am were all on the West Coast.  In contrast, the East Coast boasts the latest searchers, the night owls.  They were also more likely to use mobile devices to conduct their searches.  In the city that never sleeps, New York City, there were 18.1% of the searches were done between 10:00 pm and 4:00 am and 35% of those were conducted on mobile devices.

With that said, if you are moving across the country in search of your new home, keep these trends in mind!  Good luck in your search.
